Building a Responsibly Stylish Brand

A note from Nicole

For the past couple of months I have been working on re-branding my textile and accessory business. I decided that I wanted to open my business up to the things I find important: the future of the environment, the state of the economy, and the importance of philanthropy. How am I planning on doing this, you ask?   Here’s how:

The Environment:
  • The fabrics I use are organic and naturally dyed
  • I purchase raw materials within the United States; lessening my carbon footprint
  • I try to create products that people will want forever. Because, otherwise, what’s the point, right?
The Economy:
  • Whenever possible, the materials needed to create the bags come from domestic small businesses
  • I prefer to work with domestic textile manufacturers as well as local pattern and sample makers
  • Construction of the bags takes place in New York and Philadelphia
Charity:
  • One dollar from every bag or yard of fabric sold is donated to charity
  • I like to do my part in raising awareness of various non-profits through social networking & new media

This re-brand has been a lot of hard work; exciting and oh-so-educational. The first design under my new business initiative is up and available for sale on a made to order basis.  I thank all of you who have supported me so far and continue to support me.  Please feel free to read, form opinions, share your thoughts, and enjoy the journey while I build a brand and do it responsibly.
